From my students at La Costa Canyon High, to the desert of Borrego Springs, and the plains of Hug High I have learned many things. You have changed me from an immature, impatient, and naive college graduate to a weathered, patient, and hopefully wise man. I loved watching you learn something every day, developing jokes for every class period, and teaching you that hard work pays. After every year I always ask my students write me a letter telling me what life lesson I taught them and how they will use it in the future. Most of my students tell me that I taught them the true value of hard work, and that they can play now with empty pockets or play later with riches. Remember “God gave us nuts, but he didn’t crack them for us.”

Pre-Algebra
There are 6 assignments under the “Pre-Algebra” class heading. That means you can earn up to 180 extra credit points just by having fun with math games. As of right now there is 443 total points possible in period 5 and 544 points possible in period 4. Getting an extra 180 points can raise your grade 40%!

Academic Success
There are 9 assignments under the “Academic Success” class heading. You can earn 20 points for every assignment that you complete. That can boost your grade 100%!

Directed Studies
There are 5 assignments under the “Directed Studies” class heading. You can earn 20 points for every assignment you complete. Completing all the assignments could boost your grade 30%!

How to log in:
1. go to http://www.myskillstutor.com
2. log in using your student ID # for the user name and the password. Use procter01 for the site.
3. Click on Pre-Algebra, Directed Studies, or Academic Success.
4. Start the easiest level course, and click on the recommended assignment.

Instructions: Click the link and save to your computer. Then open the file and scroll down to the worksheet that you need to print. Make sure when you print the sheet you select “current page,” or you will print 115 pages.

1. 3-ring binders. Buy 2 or 3 because they will wear out through out the year
2. 2 sets of dividers
3. Pencils – a student will probably use one pencil every 2 weeks
4. Large erasers
5. White out – The rolling type, not the bottle
6. Reinforcement labels – Small circle stickers to reinforce strength of 3-hole paper
7. Highlighters – 2 packs of highlighters in different colors
8. Pens – students will be doing a lot of writing by hand, so buy the best pens you can.
9. 1-zipper keepers for pencils (pencil pouch)
10. Small self-stick notes (about one pad will be used every 2 weeks)Large self-stick notes
11. Loose-leaf paper (each academic class uses between 150-300 sheets of paper per semester)
